Our People
Narsis does not buy from brokers. We buy from the families who have farmed these slopes for generations, and we pay them for exactly what they grow.
Formed in 2006 by fifty farmers across five villages in Bener Meriah, the Permata Gayo cooperative revived abandoned plots on the Gayo Plateau, earning organic certification in 2007 and Fairtrade status in 2009.
West Java's highlands have grown coffee since Dutch plantations first took root here in the 1700s, among the oldest coffee ground on Earth. Today the same hillside families still tend it, tree by tree.
In the Sulawesi highlands, families farming under three acres each have banded into small cooperative micro-mills, pooling the wet-hulling craft so no single farm has to carry it alone.
A UNESCO-recognized system of collective land governance, Subak Abian coordinates Kintamani's tumpangsari farms, coffee grown in the shade of tangerine and orange trees, shared by ritual and season.

The House Behind the Mark
Narsis Coffee is headquartered in the United Arab Emirates, a house founded by Dr. Narsis on a single, stubborn idea: that the rarest coffee of the Indonesian archipelago deserved to be treated like haute couture, not a commodity.
From an atelier overlooking the skyline, Dr. Narsis built the brand the way a jeweller builds a collection, travelling the four islands, meeting the cooperatives by hand, and refusing every lot that didn't earn the gold. What began as a private reserve for a small circle became a house with one address in the Emirates and four origins across the sea.
The philosophy has never changed: buy from the families, pay for the craft, and present the result as an object worth keeping. Every bag, every cup, every boutique carries that doctrine, and the signature of the person who wrote it.

Coffee, at this level, is no longer a drink.
It is a signature.
